This shoot with Anna was such fun that time absolutely flew by. Her bright blue eyes and long golden hair made her the cutest little model. (She mentioned that her nickname at school is Repunzel because of her long locks.) We went to Kennington park in South London where they had an amazing Portuguese festival. The light was fantastic for a kid’s shoot and the weather held out for the whole day. The great thing about Anna was her bubbly personality, she loved changing her clothes so she could try out different looks (Mum was her stylist/hairdresser) and we finally ended up at the funfair where she had a great time going on all of the rides. The funfair is a great place for a kid’s photoshoot because it not only provides an interesting and colourful backdrop, but it also gives a child something fun to do and is a good distraction, especially if they are a little camera-shy.
As a kids photographer Blackheath I enjoy shooting children with brightly coloured backgrounds. I would always advise parents to dress kids in bright colours with patterns as it looks great in images. Spots, stripes and anything out of the dressing up box is great. It’s always possible to change outfit (if the kids are up for itand if you can keepthem still for long enough) so you can get different looks. Putting hair up in a bow or ribbon is another great and simple way to change the look on the day without too much effort. it’s all fun and as long as the little ones are happy then I say let’s do it!
Here are a few images from the day. Contact me to arrange a shoot with your little one, or even the whole family.
